Since the very early years, Martin has understood, innovated and inspired the world of dynamic lighting, constantly seeking new ways and setting new standards for what is achievable with light.
When you stroll 30 years down memory lane there are so many highlights that it is difficult to pinpoint particular landmark events and individual products, however, one range truly shines; the MAC series of moving head families. Initially launched in 1996, MAC soon became a benchmark within moving, automated colour changers (hence the acronym). Fixtures such as MAC 500, MAC 600, MAC 2000, MAC 700, MAC Aura, MAC Viper, MAC TW1 and MAC Quantum were true game changers establishing the range as significant, not only to Martin, but to the lighting industry at large. A range which, by the way, is about to expand within the next months.
Over the years, Martin has built a leadership position within lighting, video, atmospheric and control, encompassing full visual solutions for live concerts, TV shows, theatre, clubbing, hospitality and architectural with ranges such as Exterior, VDO, JEM, Atomic, RUSH, THRILL, and M-Series.
In 2013, HARMAN International Industries acquired Martin, thus bringing the lighting pioneer into the top league of full solutions for touring, entertainment and hospitality alongside epic audio brands like Soundcraft, JBL, AKG and others.
Regrets, we’ve had a few, but then again, too few to mention. Wise words immortalized by Frank Sinatra. Without the willingness to accept failure, no innovation. And innovation is, and always has been, what drives Martin forward and has led to our success. That, as well as an exquisite ability to anticipate and shape the future of lighting.
