The Merivale Group acquired The Beresford in 2010 and in the beginning it was a band venue. However recently the venue has focused more on its Friday and Saturday Club Nights as well as their Flagship Beresford Sundays which can attract up to 2000 people a night.
In addition to the popular Club Nights, The Beresford delivers a large variety of corporate events.
In 2018 it was decided it was time to purchase an MA Lighting International MA2 light to complement their house rig and boost the larger productions. These events have included Beresford Sundays special events as well as hosting the Sydney Mardi Gras Laneway party which is one of the flagship events of the Sydney Mardi Gras season.
“The main reason for the purchase for the MA2 light was flexibility and reliability,” commented Tim Macfie, Production Technician for Merivale. “We needed a platform that we could very quickly program shows in very tight turnarounds as on some weeks we run events seven days a week. In the decision making process we considered other platforms but MA was the clear leader with its versatility as well as pixel mapping and video capabities.”
The Beresford has seen artists like Kylie Minogue, Samantha Jade, Michael Bolton, Amy Shark, Nick Cave, The Potbelleez and many more.
