Owned by The Salvation Army, the Collaroy Centre offers a unique venue on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and a wide range of outdoor activities for school camps, conferences and retreats.
Francly Speaking, an Event Management and Production company based in Sydney’s south west, look after the AV on site and following on from last year’s audio upgrade, they recently supplied ShowPRO LED FusionPAR Q XIIs and LED Fresnel 50s to the venue. HME Engineering were recommended and selected to supply and install the hoist system.
“The Collaroy Centre wanted a lighting system in their Auditorium that would be easy for non-technical people to use, yet flexible enough to allow for growth and for groups to supplement if they want to bring in their own lighting gear,” explained Mark Apolony, Technical Director at Francly Speaking. “Gareth Mealing from Show Technology came to do a site visit and after assessing the venue and talking to staff, he recommended the ShowPRO LED FusionPAR Q XIIs and LED Fresnel 50s.”
Mark says that the eight LED FusionPAR Q XIIs are proving to be a great choice, providing plenty of even coverage.
“Obviously they help cut down the power usage, there’s no heat coming from the lamp and the colour mixing on them is nice,” added Mark. “The LED Fresnels have added that nice, natural warmth back into the room and we believe they also give the client a lot of flexibility. The zoom adds convenient versatility across the many applications we’ll be using them for.”
The ShowPRO LED FusionPar Q XII is an outdoor-rated, quad-colour (4-in-one) RGBW LED wash light with the added benefit on a W-DMX receiver on-board. The ShowPRO LED Fresnel 50 is a compact LED fresnel with 17° -50° zoom with hi CRI (91>).
