Auckland’s Studio Box is a boxing-inspired group fitness studio that delivers a high energy, addictive workout in a fully immersive, purpose-built studio.
Essential to the Studio Box workout are pumping sounds and choreographed lighting to stimulate the senses and keep you on your toes. The owners contacted Audio Visual Equipment Ltd to assist with the lighting and Glen Bullen, Managing Director of AVE, turned to Nick Reeves at Show Technology NZ for advice.
It was soon evident that the ShowPRO Photon 80 compact RGB LED PAR was the ideal fixture.
Consequently the 44 bags, which are filled with water and suspended from the ceiling, are each lit from above by 44 ShowPRO Photon 80 PARs.
“When choosing the fixture we needed something that was DMX, preferably LED as they are close to the bags and people, plus they had to look right,” said Glen. “They certainly look the part and project saturated perfectly mixed colours. It was important that we didn’t have three separate colours that can create shadows on the floor. We’ve been very happy with the Photon 80s – as has the client!”
For control, AVE created an interface that allows the client to simply change the colour, levels or tempo of the PARs.
