New Zealand’s Negative Space took delivery of a couple of Look Solutions’ Cryo-Gate low fog attachments in time for their debut on Dancing With The Stars.
The Cryo-Gate is a compact device that mates up to any professional fogger enabling the user to temporarily transform their existing fogger into a low fog generator. Control is via Ethernet, DMX512, analogue (0 – 10 V) and manual control.
“There’s a lack of good, dry-ice machines in New Zealand,” commented Jason Steel, Managing Director of Negative Space. “People are using water-based dry-ice machines that leave water residue everywhere, are a mess to set up and half the time they don’t work.”
Jason had been looking for a CO2 solution for a while – simply because it works well!
“I came across the Look Solutions Cyro-Gate which does the job very well and comes in at a good price point,” he said. “We attach them to our Look Solutions Viper 2.6 fog generators and they work brilliantly.”
Dancing With The Stars love their dry-ice effect and Jason’s Cyro-Gates are getting a good workout. He added that they are performing well and that he couldn’t ask for anything more from them.
“They’re very efficient on the CO2 gas too,” he added. “In previous years when we had to use water-based dry ice I’d spend the entire ad break filling the floor with low fog but with my Cyro-Gate system, I start it running 15 seconds before the end of the break and it’s filled the floor. It’s amazing and it stays there for a good duration, you don’t have to keep pumping it through. I usually run them at 15% and then back off to 2% and that keeps the floor covered for the time the dancers are performing.”
