The Prolights Astra Wash7PixIP is taking the market by storm and the latest proud owner of six of these fabulous little guys is Port Macquarie’s In Phase Productions.
Astra Wash7Pix is single pixel controllable, with multiple on-board FX, and allows access to precise and advanced white and colour control. This compact and fast LED moving wash light comes with an extensive feature set that can typically only be found on bigger luminaires.
“We had a couple of really big gigs coming up including a two-week long Spiegeltent show and a two-day festival next to a beach,” explained Cameron Pike, Project Manager at In Phase. “Both were open to the elements and we needed an IP-rated fixture of a versatile wash nature.”
Cameron says he particularly likes the tungsten emulation in the Astra Wash7PixIP as well as the colour temperature range and the colour mixing.
“The fact that they are silent is a bonus,” he added. “As we are based in a beachside town, we get a lot of outdoor gigs so IP rating was a must. Despite their small size, they’re one of the punchiest lights I’ve ever seen and they’re very well constructed. Everything about them is really nice.”
Cameron was thrilled with his purchase and says he was able to rig his Astra Wash7PixIP fixtures in ways that he couldn’t before.
“I got some crazy good looks!” he said. “It wasn’t until I had them on a show that I realised just how much I like them and they’ve gone on nearly every show we’ve done since.”
Cameron added that he has turned his Astra Wash7PixIP fixtures into his main fixture as its’ zoom range from 4° to 56° makes it extremely versatile for any application as beam or wash light.
