Once again the guys and gals from Eclipse Lighting saddled their horses and rode off into the sunset towards Tamworth for the 51st Toyota Country Music Festival. As in previous years, they were tasked with designing, building and running the Toyota Park stage for the full ten nights of the festival.
Fortunately this year they had grown their posse of gear with a StageSmarts C72tv, a 400A large-scale power distribution unit designed to meet all the requirements of delivering safe and reliable power to the modern-day entertainment industry. A valuable piece of gear when you’re located in a park in the middle of country NSW!
“I wanted something a bit more robust for large fixture-count shows,” explained Chris. “This is so much cleaner and simpler than what we had before. There are many things to like about the StageSmarts C72tv; the large amount of channels, the 16 amp breakers, and the fact there is 3-phase out so if I have other devices that I want to run, I can still power them off the one set of Powerlock.”
Also new to Eclipse’s inventory is an MA Lighting grandMA3 light, a grandMA3 compact XT. As the grandMA3 light was yet to be delivered, the grandMA3 compact XT had its turn in the spotlight at Tamworth where it did not fail to impress. Chris reports that for a small footprint, the console is excellent. He particularly likes having the two touchscreens and the motorised faders.
“We also purchased twelve more MAC Quantum Profiles as they are bullet-proof, they always work and never let me down,” said Chris. “They’re nice and bright for a small, lightweight fixture. Even though they are not the latest and greatest fixture on the market, they are still the best workhorse.
“Having said that, we haven’t actually bought them to Tamworth as they were needed elsewhere!! However, we do have our Ayrton Ghiblis and Martin MAC101s in the rig.”
