Scene Change Adelaide has welcomed an MA Lighting grandMA3 compact XT, two grandMA3 onPC command wing XTs and two MA3 8Port Nodes to their inventory.
Having recently upgraded their moving light inventory, including Prolights Astra Wash19Pix, it was time to turn attention to their control!
“With an increase in parameter count for most our new fixtures, it was the correct time to update our existing moving light consoles,” commented Nick Waterman, Director of Scene Change Adelaide. “Our technicians drive equipment purchasing within the business and their choice was MA and the grandMA3 compact XT. It’s the platform they want to work on and this size console suits our requirements.”
The grandMA3 compact XT console offers the full system benefits of the grandMA3 system, housed in a compact and lightweight format. The compact XT console features 2 huge multi-touch monitors, 5 dual encoders and a complete command area almost identical to the larger models. With 60 physical playbacks, 16 assignable x-keys and a dedicated master area, it provides plenty of playback options.
A smaller option on the same platform was also required for portability and for venues where space is tight and so the grandMA3 onPC command wing XTs were purchased.
“Keeping to the same platform creates consistency and we like that” added Nick. “To expand the number of universes we also got a couple of MA3 8Port Nodes, they give us flexibility with the channel demands these days.”
Nick reports that the consoles have been getting a workout on quite a few shows already and that everyone loves them. Previously, the crew were all using dot2 consoles so it’s been quite a big step up to the MA3 range … hence the training photo!
“grandMA3 is the ideal choice of console for all the work we do as it is so powerful and flexible and can meet all of our needs,” remarked Nick. “MA Lighting products are extremely reliable, well designed and built, plus the support from Show Technology has been excellent as always … Keith is great!”
