With this in mind and to ensure creativity in open-air environments, they recently added a dozen Ayrton Perseo compact, multi-function luminaires with an IP65 enclosure rating developed by Ayrton for intensive outdoor use.
“The Perseo is a great fixture with an amazing feature set,” remarked Jez Nolan, Director. “We’re keen to grow our IP-rated fixtures into our inventory so that had very strong appeal. I like that they offer framing, as everybody loves a good framing fixture, and the LED source is also very popular.”
Jez added that the fact that several other production companies in Melbourne stock Ayrton Perseos was a major factor. Having alliances with many of those companies means that he can bolster his stock when required.
The photographs depict the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child theatre show closing party held at the State Library Victoria. Eight Ayrton Perseos were used to recreate a look/effect from the stage show projected onto the roof and walls.
“The State Library is a beautiful venue light and the client asked for us to replicate a piece of the show which was a ‘Time-Turner’ effect,” explained Jez. “The Perseo’s gobo set lent itself very nicely towards doing that. They performed beautifully and the zoom range on them was outstanding making them ideal for the job.”
Jez also commented on Perseo’s outstanding optics resulting in an amazing quality of projection.
