When Tasmanian production company VJAM was looking to replace their aging Martin MAC Vipers that had served them well over the years, they had a look at several replacement fixtures but could find no better than the Ayrton Perseo Profile.
“The Perseo has excellent colour mixing, great gobos and a shuttering system which works really well,” commented Matt Neil, Senior Account Manager at VJAM. “It’s also a very bright light that’s not too heavy to rig. Ayrton products are famous for their brightness, efficiency and reliability. The Perseo is a great feature-packed fixture and we find that it’s a light that can do everything.”
What sealed the deal for Matt, was the Perseo’s IP65 enclosure rating which is ideal for for Tasmania’s notoriously inclement weather!
When Tourism Industry Council Tasmania asked VJAM to light up Turner Stillhouse and Tamar Ridge Wines for their Tamar Rave networking event (pictured), it was time to herald the event with Perseos reaching for the stars!
“The guests arrived at the venue on coaches and the Perseo beams were visible from four kilometres away,” said Matt. “We’ve got quite a few jobs from this photo of the Perseos in action!”
The other photo shows how the Perseos were used to project an abstract version of the Master Builders logo for an event at Princes Wharf in Hobart.
A few weeks before the Ayrton Perseo purchase, VJAM became the first – and only – production company in Tasmania to purchase an MA Lighting grandMA3 full-size and the investment has paid off with many shows and tours booked.
“Dark Mofo required an full size MA console for the festival and so a two-week hire kicked off life for our MA3 at VJAM,” said Matt. “As a production company, you can’t go wrong investing in an MA console as they are constantly spec’d on riders.”
