Australian Idol has wrapped for another year looking even more stunning than before thanks to Martin MAC Ones!
Lighting designer Ian Anderson was thrilled to have Chameleon Touring System’s new MAC Ones on the production commenting that the MAC One is the best-looking and compact wash fixture he has used in many years.
A total of 52 MAC Ones were on Australian Idol and used as the main wash light in the lighting system.
“The fresnel-style lens is visually stunning,” said Ian. “The main light source is extremely bright (too bright generally for the on-camera environment) and would tick the box for any broadcast setting. It’s rich in its colours, able to obtain nice pastels and the zoom ratio is very versatile from a tight spot to a medium flood. The variable colour temperature feature is broad in its performance and the LED backlight effects add a nice tinkle in the back of shots.”
Ian reports that the MAC Ones matched perfectly with all of the other lights in the system with MAC Vipers, MAC 101s, Encores, as well as others, all playing nicely together!
The MAC One is super quick in all functions, lightweight and it’s set a new standard for wash lamps for our broadcast productions,” he noted.
