Audio Visual Events recently purchased sixteen Claypaky Mini-B Spots – the tiny “fixtures” with a powerful, energy-efficient moving and static beam.

AVE® wanted to invest in ultra-compact moving headlights that offer more creative flexibility in various venues without compromising performance. As AVE® provides both production and dry-hire services, they need to stay up to date with innovative lighting products that they can offer their clients.

“The Claypaky Mini-B Spots’ small size makes them ideal for both small and mid-sized venues,” remarked Mark Shepherd, Head of Production AVE®. “In smaller venues, they can be placed in locations that would not be available for larger moving lights. Additionally, their slimline and lightweight rigging options allow for more discreet set designs.”

On August 16th, the Claypaky Mini-B Spots made their debut at the 2024 B&T Women In Media Awards which was produced by The Misfits Media Company at the White Bay Cruise Terminal.

“We were impressed by the power of their output relative to their size and low energy consumption,” commented Dylan Hovey, Technical Director AVE®. Although we knew this was a key feature, seeing them in action showed that these little lights really do pack a punch.”

At the B&T Women In Media Awards, AVE® placed eight Claypaky Mini-B Spots across the front of the stage to create an upward fan-out effect for the awards ceremony. Their compact size allowed for a sleek stage design that wouldn’t have been achievable with larger fixtures.

“Their compact form allowed for more moving heads and creative lighting options without cluttering the stage look,” added Dylan.

“They performed fantastically!” continued Mark. “The Claypaky Mini-B Spots have now been out on several jobs, and we have had great feedback from lighting designers, clients and our dry-hire customers.”
