Listen Up Events has added four Martin ERA 300 Profiles to their inventory, a few months after purchasing an MA Lighting grandMA3 compact and recently a grandMA3 onPC fader wing.
The Martin ERA 300 Profile is a very compact profile fixture with an extremely efficient 260W white LED engine that produces a sharp gobo projection with a flat field and more output than typically associated with similar-sized and featured fixtures.
“We were looking for two replacement moving head lights for the installation that we have at Sydney’s Bungalow 8,” remarked Tom Dann, Listen Up Events. “We were originally looking at a smaller fixture but settled on the ERAs, as they’re a lot brighter so we’ll have more uses for them moving forward.”
Tom was happy to settle on a brand that is known for its reliability and rugged build, having previously used a cheaper, more generic brand of lighting. The company has now decided to move over to the reputable Martin and ShowPRO brands, especially as late last year they moved their lighting control over to MA Lighting grandMA3.
“The fixtures we already had were a struggle to work with as they had no profiles,” added Tom. “So we’re essentially upgrading our full kit. The ERA 300s have extremely nice colours and the preset gobos are great … plus they come with an MA profile!”
Tom and his team are enjoying the ease of control offered by their MA setup although he admits that it took them a while to get used to the MA3 platform.
“Now we’ve been using it a while, we love it and it’s a massive step up from our previous control method,” he commented.
